In This presentation, Tuna talked about what translation was. What translation was in a detail way. Firstly, she explained what the translation was, how it was explained in her article. There were some definitions on translation. One of them was that “its meaning is by no means straightforward. This is the word translation itself whether conceived as a process or as a product.” In addition to this, she said that translation was a good transition between languages. Translation should have to communicate between languages. In that sense, some losses were inevitable. To emphasize these loses article gave some points. Equivalence was one of them. There were levels of the equivalence. Phonology, lexical items, sentences, semantics and morphemes were considered by a translator before starting translates something. Moreover, besides them, a translator should considers that the meaning of the text, emotions, intentions and thoughts of the text. Tuna also pointed out that, the differences between text and discourse. This was the first thing that I had ever heard before. I learned the differences between them from this presentation. The effect of equivalences on translation was important she said. The most important point in this presentation was that she said “the best translation gives the same impression as the original gives to the audiences.
Meryem, in the presentation, I also find the sentence most important “the best translation gives the same impression as the original gives to the audiences.''I think it explains everything we have learned throughout the semester. I mean looking at this sentences, we can say that translator should know target language as his native language and know the culture of target language. The translator should be an expert in his area so he can make best translations. When he makes good translations, readers can get the same impression as the original book.

For Ezgi Hazal Kok's Presentation
In this presentation gave us the realities of translator and translation in Turkey. Hazal made a very good summary about her articles. Firstly she began to talk about who the translator is. She gave brief description about it. Then, she explained the translators’ qualifications in Turkey. How they get educate and how they make money. In addition to his, as a job translators can live in better conditions or not.
She asked very effectives question to gain our attentions about the topic. We watched some related videos which were related to how translate done by a translator. In this presentation showed me that a translator’ education life, how s/he to be a professional in this job. To be able to make a very good translation, a translator should know both languages like his or her native language. In these languages a translator should read about anything that he or she can find to understand the languages in a better way.
The other important point that I learned from her presentation was that she point out that Turkish people does not care about who is the translator of the book which they read. However, we need to pay attention the translator of the book. Lastly she made a comment on income of the translator in Turkey. This was very bad news for our translator candidate in the class because it was so low sometime it was just a pocket money she said.
